Review / Comments ::

"Earth Tones" by Tony Elman, featuring Darol Anger on violin, Joe Craven on percussion and fiddle, Matt Eakle on flute, Pete Elman on piano, Mike Marshall on Mandolin and guitar, Edgar Meyer on Arco Bass, Todd Phillips on String Bass.

A lively and beautiful album highlighted by Tony Elman's magical playing of the hammered dulcimer, an instrument I am particularly fond of. Favorite tracks are River Run and old fashioned and simple hammered dulcimer tune, Calgary Girl.

Tony Elman is sometimes classified as New Age or Folk. Personally, I think he defies classification. He has a sense of style and rhythm that has to be experienced. This sweet music would charm the birds from the trees! While perhaps not perfect for meditation, I find it relaxing and yet invigorating for massage or visiting with friends.
